The Rules of Attraction

This movie does its very very best to be pretentious, and does succeed to a degree, but it’s mostly very very boring. I was kind of interested going into it, as American Psycho was a really good movie, and this movie is (loosely) related in that the main character in Rules is our favourite nude chainsaw-wieding maniac’s brother.

Dawson (from the Creek!) plays our main character, Sean Bateman, who is something of a lady’s man despite being crazier than some sort of bad analogy. He has sex with lots of girls and does drugs but is still kind of bored until he meets this other girl and falls in love with her for no discernable reason and in the end I start playing Spider Solitaire because this movie has been going on far too long.

On the plus side, it has pretty good music.
