Gangs of York
Oh you better believe I am back once again, kicking off March in style with more pictures.
These are from my second trip to York University, the new home of the late John William Blakeley, who last year was one of the stars of this very website. Alas, now he is gone, and as a result there are far less crotch pictures and a little less joy. I go to York (Though I really wish I had been able to go MORE) to rekindle that manic spark and bring those memories back to the dozens of people who read this website.
Putting these pictures in the ‘kings’ site may be stretching things a little, since I am, technically, the only person photographed in this set who actually still goes to King’s College. It is, however, my damn website, and I’ll post whatever I damn well want. And who are you to question that? You’re lucky I didn’t put up the pictures of my little cousins, you ingrateful slugs.
Most of these pictures (And, I know, there are too few of them) are of John William, his hetero lifemate Ali, myself and JW’s nextdoor neighbour, the ever-intrepid and far-too-talented photographer Justin who berated me for ‘lagging’ and ’smiling too much’, the jerk. Anyway, Justin wanted some pictures of Toronto at its best, so we piled into Ali’s car and drove about the city, stopping at random dark alleys and shopping centres in the middle of the night. It was actually a lot of fun, and I’m sorry to say my pictures are terribly crappy compared to some of the stuff Justin shot. He actually managed to take a picture of me where I DIDN’T look like a multi-chinned chemo-patient with the haircut of a 17th century monk. It was like magic.
Oh, and of course, I’m glad to say I can finally welcome the infamous Jessica “FRIEND STEALER” “Delightful Person” LaBerge to the website. Yes, we all made fun of John William last year when he wasn’t around, cracking jokes about his “girlfriend” who apparently “existed” and somehow “found him attractive” and actually did not “pelt him with rotten fruit”, but she is actually real, people. And now I finally have the picture to prove it. And look how happy she is to be here!

..Oh dear— I tried to convince people that Jess existed, I’ve known the girl since Croft Elementary School Drama Club (oh, memories), yet apparently that made very little difference.
Just wanted to say that i had a great time the other night, taking the photographs with you guys, and hopefully we see you again soon Matt.
Aside from that, you are giving my photographs too much credit! P.S. It’s a littel known fact that I too am from Halifax and am here in Toronto, representing the east coast. So, although i may not be a student at kings matt, I am not a complete stranger to kings
2nd PS. I can send along some of my photos if you wish, although they do not include such humour as touching my ass while taking them!!!
cheers.
Yes, it was indeed a lot of fun. It’s really cool that now I can say I spent a significant amount of time in a Toronto dark alley. Makes me sound like a badass, even if most of the time spent in said dark alley was spent talking about Ninja Turtles. (And the FOOT clan!)
I would love to have some of the pictures you took. Seriously, that would make my day. You can e-mail any and all pictures to matt@graphicmatt.com and I will be forever glad to post them.
