Novel Writing Month Update FINAL

Didn’t even come CLOSE, guys! What a MASSACRE. I started strong with like 5,000 words in ONE NIGHT ALONE but then laziness struck back and it was like POW POW KAPOW and my work ethic was DOWN FOR THE COUNT. Final word count was just BARELY over 20,000. Which, you know, I’m still impressed by. I’ve never written anything that long before. It feels good to get something substantial down on paper, even if it was 30,000 words short of being as substantial as it was supposed to be.

On the plus side, though, while November did not prove my worth as a novelist, it did indeed prove that I look pretty damn good in a suit. Observe:

Here I am trying to look Amish by pointing off into the distance. Pearle just looks confused. She is not very good at being Amish. Perhaps because she is Asian and there are very few Asian Amish; I can only speculate.

Here I am giving her a cactus which, in some cultures, would mean that we are married. Fortunately for me, Canada has no culture.

The real reason I’m posting this is to say that as my old stand-by the /kings page has fallen on hard times, what with the comments being continuously attacked by spammers, I will be, in the coming weeks, discontinuing the page. All the photos and various witticisms — past and present — will be instead posted onto graphicmatt proper, thus combining the two sites into one giant megasite that will one day consume city blocks.

Since my Kings life is so integrated with what I write about on this website these days, it doesn’t make a lot of sense to maintain two sites. And wordpress the php software I’m using for this blog is much better at combatting spammers than b2 which I use on the kings page. Thus people will actually be able to comment again, without fear of being attacked by spammer hordes.

I will also, hopefully, update more frequently. Maybe. Possibly. If I can stop applying to hotornot livejournal communities with those sexy pictures of myself. I imagine that’ll take up a lot of my time.
