The months of the year
January is notable for two reasons. Firstly, it signals the end of the cheerful Christmas holidays and the often-difficult return to school. Secondly, it is really really cold.
It was much easier in the fall, when the sun was up later and the warm air clung to everything late into the night. Even in November we had sweater weather, which made going outside fun and not at all like death. Unfortunately for us and everything, the cold weather hit big time in January, and so the days have become shorter and the outings seemingly more infrequent. It was a long hard month, one that bore only a few memories, but I’m glad to say we all came through with minimal mental or emotional trauma, and a casualty rate of zero.
The highlights of January:
- There’s something a little different about Mike Weir…
- The annual Young Alexandra Society Ball! While our clothing may look kind of informal and the pictures may lead one to think that we stayed home and played board games, I can assure you that that could not be further from the truth.
- We continued our long-standing tradition of going out for All-Day Breakfast. Eggs, bacon, pancakes, coffee, romance — All-Day Breakfast truly has it all.
- One night I was supposed to be writing an essay on Jane Austen but instead I wandered around outside at 3 a.m. for a while, and took a picture of the library. It is a nice library, I guess.
- Roger and Mike are looking shifty inside the bank. Bryan is… doing something else.
- Yes, we did go to The Keg. No, we’re not 30-year-old students. Yes, we kind of wish we were. That’s a glass of PORT, by the way. That’s right, PORT. I drank PORT. I still don’t really know what it is.
- Oh boy it’s Superbowl time! Yes, I know this was technically February but where I’m from, logic like that is completely irrelevant. Everybody make your football faces:
Dear God. The best part was when we got totally bored with the game and started listening to Mo-Town music.
- A fun game to play with these pictures is to count the number of shots of Bryan’s ass! I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised!
I’m tired of holding your hand; go look at the rest of them on your own!
And leave comments, you silly fools.

I have a medical condition in which I hallucinate about Bryan’s ass, thereby seeing it in places where it is not. The strangest such occurence occured when I was driving North on an Ontario highway. I saw several Bryan’s asses, grazing in a farmer’s field.
I blanked out for the next three hours. When I awoke, I was at my destination, very tired, and completely out of windshield washer fluid.
It was the happiest I’ve ever been.
Mike’s beard confuses me. Is he trying to be you, Matt? I’ve only seen it live once, and… well it was just confounding.
Sorry, I take that back. Mike is not trying to be you, but rather, TV’s Richard Karn…
